Each of our two Leipzig houses has its strengths: historic and central at Bayerischer Bahnhof with S-Bahn and tram outside the door – or lively Connewitz near the KarLi in an authentic neighbourhood. You pick the location – we have the house that fits your plans.
Whether opera and Gewandhaus at Augustusplatz, the KarLi for browsing and going out, concerts at Werk 2, a visit to the Leipzig trade fair, a walk in the riverside forest or browsing the agra antique market: each of our Leipzig houses is a different entry into the city.
City centre south at Bayerischer Bahnhof
Our Hotel am Bayrischen Platz is on Paul-List-Straße, directly opposite Bayerischer Bahnhof station – S-Bahn and tram practically outside the door. Augustusplatz, Gewandhaus, the opera and Leipzig University Hospital on the Liebigstraße campus are all within walking distance. Eleven free parking spaces in the house are rare in this location. It is a listed building with history, not an anonymous new build – and that is what shapes the character of the house.
Two streets away, Leipzig's laid-back KarLi invites you to browse, dine and stop for a café in between, in the evening for a drink and lively Südvorstadt feeling. More history in our house history article, more on location in our Bayrischer Platz article.
Connewitz and the KarLi
Our Hotel Alt-Connewitz is on Meusdorfer Straße, at the southern entry to the KarLi, with alternative neighbourhood feeling galore. Pub, café or concert, the Connewitz neighbourhood won't disappoint. The peaceful riverside forest is also within walking distance when you need to unwind. By tram or S-Bahn you are still in the city or heading to the trade fair in minutes.
For us the KarLi connects both Leipzig houses: mornings towards Augustusplatz, evenings back into the neighbourhood – or the other way round. More on the district in our KarLi guide, more on the house in our Alt-Connewitz article.
Trade fair or concert?
From Bayrischer Platz you reach the main station and trade fair easily by S-Bahn and tram. From Alt-Connewitz take tram 16 towards the exhibition grounds or use the S-Bahn via Connewitz – both houses work for trade fair and concert guests without needing an anonymous large hotel.
