Opening of fjord hotel berlin
It all began in 1993, when Emil Lindemann brought the fjord hotel berlin to life in Berlin-Tiergarten. With 57 rooms, a ground-floor bar and a spacious breakfast room on the 7th floor above the rooftops of Berlin, our journey began.
Hotel Alte Feuerwache
In May 2000, Lars – Emil's son – followed in his father's footsteps and took over the Hotel Alte Feuerwache in Berlin-Lichtenberg. With 26 rooms and a restaurant hosting events and weddings, the hotel quickly became the centre of Lars's life.
Company Founded
With bold ambitions, the team founded LINDEMANN HOTELS in 2007 – the foundation for everything that followed.
The Black Pearl – LINDEMANN'S
A new hotel was needed – bigger, more modern, more Berlin. In August 2008, LINDEMANN'S opened with 65 rooms in Berlin-Schöneberg.
Central Reservations Founded
With three hotels now in the family, a central reservations office was needed. Founded together with colleagues from the Lichtenberg hotel, the LINDEMANN HOTELS central reservations team was born.
Renovation of fjord hotel berlin (2010–2012)
The fjord hotel berlin moved into greater focus. Since 1993, the hospitality world had changed – it was time to bring the hotel back up to date. The 7th-floor breakfast room gave way to four unique rooms with private rooftop terraces.
CALMA Berlin Mitte
One day, a hotel caught our eye – and we fell in love immediately. The traditional Berlin building with its unusual architecture and dreamy courtyard setting was the perfect candidate.
Renovation of CALMA Berlin Mitte
The spring 2013 renovation transformed the original 38 rooms into 46 modern rooms in a refined grey-and-white style.
Extension of LINDEMANN'S
The unused conference room on the 6th floor of LINDEMANN'S was converted into additional rooms – bringing the total to 72.
Full Takeover of fjord hotel berlin
In 2013, Lars fully took over the fjord hotel berlin from his father Emil. From this point on, three hotels belonged to LINDEMANN HOTELS.
The 4th Hotel
It didn't take long for a fourth property to catch the team's attention – an old townhouse villa, slightly off the beaten track, already operating as a hotel since 1992.
Anna 1908
When renovations completed in the summer of 2016, our Steglitz hotel had gained not only eight new rooms, but its own rustic-modern character – and at last a name to match.
Full Redesign of LINDEMANN'S
In January 2017, LINDEMANN'S underwent a complete overhaul. The slate-black bathrooms and imposing slate bar in the lobby were reinvented – white gave way to midnight blue.
Makeover of CALMA Berlin Mitte
CALMA Berlin Mitte also received a makeover. The lobby and breakfast area gained a new design – a fresh pop of pink joined the grey-and-white rooms. Completed by a charming courtyard terrace with upcycled pallet furniture and cosy cushions.
Makeover of fjord hotel berlin
2018 saw the corridor renovation completed, the breakfast area fully redesigned and the lobby given a completely new spatial concept. More open, lighter, warmer – a hotel that keeps evolving.
Makeover of Anna 1908
2018 also brought improvements to Anna 1908: room furnishings refined, minibars added, lighting concept improved – making an already welcoming house even more homely.
New Office
A milestone reached: with four hotels and more than 50 employees, LINDEMANN HOTELS had proven itself as a genuine success story.
New Start for fjord hotel berlin
The time had come for a complete renovation of the fjord hotel berlin. In January 2020, work began in the lobby and breakfast room – an entirely new colour concept and spatial layout.
A New Chapter with AURELIUS
2023 marked a milestone: in October, LINDEMANN HOTELS became part of AURELIUS Wachstumskapital – launching a nationwide expansion and the search for new, unique properties.
little BIG hotels
In 2024, LINDEMANN HOTELS reached a defining milestone – becoming little BIG hotels. The new name captures a vision of hospitality that puts personality and individuality at its heart.
