Responsibility
little steps.
BIG impact.
Sustainability is not a destination for us, but a journey – with values, responsibility, and a touch of lightness.
Our Approach
It's a people thing.
It's a trust thing.
This mindset shapes not only our role as hosts, but also our path towards a more sustainable future. For us, sustainability means more than conserving resources – it means responsibility – for people, places, and perspectives.
Our goal is to shape the future of responsible travel together with those who stay with us, work with us, and collaborate with us.
Every decision we make is based on what truly matters to our team members, guests, hotel owners and investors: acting thoughtfully while growing sustainably. We're not aiming for perfection – we're committed to continuous improvement and living our values every day.
What we already do
Values in action.
Human Rights & Fairness
We stand for a respectful, discrimination-free environment in which diversity is valued and everyone is welcome.
Responsible Workplace
The health, safety and wellbeing of our team members matter deeply to us. We foster a positive working culture and invest in a valued, supportive environment.
Environmental Awareness
Wherever possible, we adopt eco-friendly technologies, prioritise energy and resource efficiency, and support initiatives to protect nature and biodiversity.
Sustainable Sourcing
From towels to breakfast coffee: we prefer products and suppliers that act in an ecologically and socially responsible way – and consciously choose regional providers.
Culture & Community
Our hotels are part of their neighbourhood – and that's something they show. We integrate local elements, share tips about the area, and focus on authentic experiences over staged ones.
Responsible Business
We want to be successful not just today, but tomorrow too. That means active risk and crisis management, and continuous dialogue with our partners and guests.
And more to follow.
Travel with a clear conscience
GreenSign Certificate
Two of our hotels already hold a GreenSign Certificate – LINDEMANN'S and the YARD. The GreenSign Hotel Certification is awarded by the GreenSign Institute Berlin and is recognised by the Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC).
To receive the certification, a hotel must meet more than 130 criteria across ten core areas – from ecological sustainability and social aspects to cultural and economic responsibility. Standards such as EMAS, DIN ISO 14001 and ISO 26000 form the basis.
In addition to a self-evaluation in a digital tool, a binding environmental programme with concrete development targets is required – supplemented by an on-site audit. The certificate is valid for three years. Worldwide, more than 900 companies in 19 countries are part of the GreenSign certification.
