What our guests say
Kreuzberg – and still unwind
Kreuzberg is the liveliest neighbourhood in Berlin. Anyone who has been there knows it: Oranienstraße, Bergmannkiez, the Landwehrkanal, everything that makes Berlin Berlin is packed into a small area. The question is: where do you stay when you're right in the middle of it all but want to come down at the end of the day?
The YARD Berlin is the answer. A boutique hotel with its own spa, indoor pool, sauna and a garden designed by landscape architect Enzo Enea, right on Alexandrinenstraße, three minutes' walk from the Landwehrkanal and the Rutz Zollhaus.
Kreuzberg is best explored on foot
The Landwehrkanal is just three minutes' walk from the hotel, at Carl-Herz-Ufer, where the Rutz Zollhaus with views over the water offers one of Berlin's finest evenings. Admiralbrücke is another ten minutes from there and is unmissable in summer. Around twelve minutes on foot brings you to Urbanhafen at Böcklerpark, one of the quietest and most beautiful spots to relax in Kreuzberg, favoured by locals and rarely mentioned in tourist guides. In summer, add the Prinzenbad: Sommerbad Kreuzberg is also within easy walking distance and has the strongest neighbourhood feel of any outdoor pool in Berlin.
The Jewish Museum is about ten minutes on foot. Checkpoint Charlie is roughly 1.5 km away, around twenty minutes' walk or a few stops by U-Bahn. If you'd rather eat than walk: Kreuzberg is one of the most dense culinary areas in Berlin. Our restaurant guide features the best spots around the YARD.
The spa in the middle of Kreuzberg
What sets the YARD apart from other boutique hotels in Kreuzberg isn't the number of rooms or the location. It's the spa. Indoor pool at a comfortable 26°C, Finnish sauna, steam bath and a small fitness room with a cross trainer and treadmill. Spa use for hotel guests: 15 euros per person per stay, children pay half. Open daily from 7 am to 10 pm.
Then there's the garden, a quiet inner courtyard designed by landscape architect Enzo Enea. Green, peaceful and right in the heart of Kreuzberg. You won't find that anywhere else.
