Steglitz isn't the neighbourhood that pushes itself forward. But anyone who has spent time here understands it: quiet streets lined with old buildings, the Botanical Garden just around the corner, Schloßstraße as one of Berlin's best shopping destinations and still a fast S-Bahn connection into the centre. The south-west of Berlin is ideal for anyone who doesn't want to be in the thick of the action but doesn't want to miss out on the city either.
Our Anna 1908 occupies a Wilhelminian-era building from 1908, and you can feel that: high ceilings, thick walls and a quiet that simply doesn't happen in a new build. And because families are especially welcome here, the large children's playground directly across the street is no coincidence.
What Steglitz offers visitors to Berlin
Schloßstraße starts less than two minutes from the hotel and is one of Berlin's most compact shopping destinations. The Botanical Garden, one of the largest and most beautiful in Germany, is around 15 minutes on foot. If you're looking for peace, you'll also find it in Stadtpark Steglitz or along the Schlossstraßenpromenade.
With the S1 from Feuerbachstraße station (roughly 550 m on foot) the whole city opens up: Potsdamer Platz in 13 minutes, Brandenburger Tor in 15, Friedrichstraße in 17, all direct on the north-south axis without changing.
