Snooker German Masters 2027 Berlin

📍 Tempodrom, Möckernstraße 10, 10963 Berlin

German Masters 2027 at the Tempodrom: world-class snooker from 25 to 31 January. Tickets, sessions and boutique hotels close to the arena.

What makes the German Masters special

The Snooker German Masters 2027 Berlin is back as a ranking tournament on the World Snooker Tour and the major snooker fixture on the European mainland. Officially it runs as the Machineseeker German Masters. And yes: in 2027 it remains the only world ranking snooker tournament on mainland Europe. Fans travel not only from Germany, but from across the continent to Berlin. You might be one of them.

Traditionally it is played at the Tempodrom in Kreuzberg, an arena with steep stands and a tent roof. For many professionals, Berlin is one of the most atmospheric stops of the season. Since the revival in 2011, the tournament has been a fixed date on the calendar. The trophy is the Brandon Parker Trophy, named after the promoter who brought snooker to the Tempodrom.

When and where the balls roll

The balls roll from 25 to 31 January 2027 at the Tempodrom, Möckernstraße 10, in the heart of Berlin. Qualification takes place beforehand in England: according to the tour calendar, the qualifying matches are scheduled from 16 to 19 November 2026 in Wigan. Only then is the main field in Berlin confirmed. For fans, that means seven days of pure snooker in the big arena, from the early rounds to the final on Sunday evening.

How the tournament works

The German Masters is a world ranking event with a classic knockout format. After the qualifying rounds, the best players enter the main draw and play session after session in Berlin for points, prize money and prestige. The Tempodrom hosts several tables in parallel before the quarter-finals or semi-finals move to the TV table and the atmosphere tightens.

Monday to Thursday are your days if you are a purist: parallel tables, freer seating, players between matches on the stands. From the late rounds onwards, everything concentrates on one table. Then a tournament evening turns into real theatre.

Live snooker is simply unbeatable

Snooker thrives on calm, precision and nerve. Every shot counts, every mistake can cost the frame. The drama is slow and still brutal: safety battles, a sudden century break, an unfortunate foul at the crucial moment. Millimetres decide, and the hall feels it immediately.

The silence before the shot, then the collective intake of breath, then applause or a quiet groan: you only get half of that on stream. Live, you sit close enough to read the table craft, feel the players’ tempo and understand why some sessions end like small thrillers. That is why you mark Berlin on your calendar, not just as another ranking event.

Internationally, faces shape the sport: Ronnie O’Sullivan for instinct and timing, Judd Trump for speed and creativity, Mark Selby and John Higgins for tactics and endurance. Who you see at the Tempodrom in 2027 depends on qualification. The names stand for the level that has been standard here for years.

Who defends the title

Judd Trump arrives as reigning champion. He won the 2026 final in Berlin 10:4 against Shaun Murphy and claimed his record-extending fourth German Masters title. The field is determined by qualification and ranking positions. Whoever is seeded or fights through reaches the Tempodrom stage. In the past, numerous top stars have graced Berlin, from Ronnie O’Sullivan and Mark Selby to Luca Brecel, Mark Williams or Ding Junhui. The final list of participants is only confirmed after the qualifying days.

Tickets and sessions

Tickets are available via snookerstars and the Tempodrom. Prices range from roughly €43 to €167 depending on session and category. Day tickets and multi-day passes are available. If you want a lot of snooker for your money, check the preliminary and full-tournament passes. Booking early pays off, as evenings from the quarter-finals onwards are traditionally in high demand.

More info and the session overview are also on the Tempodrom event page.

Your day at the Tempodrom

Day and evening sessions are clearly scheduled. If you want to see several matches, combine an afternoon session with an evening session. The Tempodrom is central: right next door is Anhalter Bahnhof on the S1 line, and U-Bahn and buses get you there easily. Cafés and restaurants wait nearby for breaks, and Potsdamer Platz is only a short walk away. The venue logistics are built for snooker: clear routes, quiet foyers, and you want to be seated when the first “Silence, please” echoes through the arena.

Stay close to the action

The Tempodrom sits in Kreuzberg, and good sessions rarely end before 10 pm. With a room a few minutes away by Uber you skip the long journey home after every frame, especially when you stack several tournament days in a row.

If you are still looking for accommodation, we at little BIG hotels have five boutique properties in Berlin with personal service. Three are especially practical for the Tempodrom: our the YARD in Kreuzberg, the fjord hotel berlin near Potsdamer Platz and LINDEMANN’S in Schöneberg. Taxi or Uber from the YARD and fjord takes about five minutes, from LINDEMANN’S often under ten. From the fjord hotel berlin you reach the Tempodrom in a few minutes by Uber, while Potsdamer Platz and Gleisdreieck are just around the corner. The S1 at Anhalter Bahnhof keeps you in the fast radius too.
