What the fair double is about

Haus-Garten-Freizeit (HGF) is one of Germany’s largest consumer trade fairs, nine days of shopping, advice and hands-on programme around home, building, garden, food, pets and leisure. In parallel HANDWERK live runs with demonstrations, advice and hands-on moments from guilds, businesses and young talent. One ticket, two fair worlds, firmly linked on the Leipzig Trade Fair grounds.

When and where it takes place in 2027

The double event runs from 6 to 14 February 2027 at Leipzig Trade Fair. Opening hours are daily 9:30 am to 6 pm. HANDWERK live runs over the same period.

New at the opening: MOTORRÄDER LEIPZIG starts 2027 together with HGF and HANDWERK live from 6 to 8 February. On these three days one ticket covers all three fairs, motorcycles, home, garden and crafts in one weekend.

What awaits you on the grounds

HGF focuses on experience worlds: garden and green living, crafts and building, food and culinary, family experience with farm and pet areas, show kitchens and stage programme. You find inspiration, talk directly to exhibitors and take home what fits. HANDWERK live shows how traditional techniques and modern innovation meet, from insulation updates to manufacture quality.

Tickets and getting there

The ticket shop opens according to the organiser from December 2026. One ticket is valid for HGF and HANDWERK live, from 6 to 8 February also for MOTORRÄDER LEIPZIG. Your fair ticket entitles you to free local public transport in MDV tariff zone 110 on the day of your visit.

How to plan your fair day

Start with your main goal: garden update, kitchen upgrade, pet supplies or building project. Check the programme in advance and mark demonstrations. Plan breaks in the food areas and use advice at the stands. Thanks to the included public transport ticket you travel stress-free.

Stay for Haus-Garten-Freizeit

Nine fair days plus the motorcycle opening weekend are more marathon than day trip. If you sleep city-close, you take tram 16 to the fairgrounds in the morning and land in Leipzig with neighbourhood, pub or an early night in the evening, instead of the fair surroundings every day.

Hotel am Bayrischen Platz sits central-south, close to KarLi. Hotel Alt-Connewitz sits in lively Connewitz. Both are city-close with tram 16 towards the fairgrounds and S-Bahn well connected.
