What Green Week is about

The International Green Week is Berlin’s big stage for food, agriculture and horticulture. Between trend products, regional specialities and international country shows you meet producers, start-ups, associations and plenty of curious food lovers. It is a culinary, green and very Berliner public fair, and at the same time a professional meeting point for the industry. 2027 is the 91st edition. After last year’s big 100-year anniversary, the classic focus is back: taste, talk and experience.

When and where it takes place in 2027

From 15 to 24 January 2027 the fair opens at Berlin ExpoCenter City by the Funkturm, Messedamm 22. Opening hours are daily from 10 am to 6 pm, and on Friday 22 January until 8 pm. That gives you two full weekends and a long Friday evening to wander, taste and network. Venue and times come straight from the organiser.

What awaits you on the grounds

Green Week feels like a marketplace at XXL scale, organised into lively worlds. The flower hall blooms in a way that photographs well, the market hall is stacked with treats, in agriculture you learn about modern farming, and the animal area has breeds worth staring at. The World Tour takes you culinary around the globe, while the young generation hub makes future topics tangible for younger visitors. There are also areas for garden, home and farm plus the German regions, ideal if you want to snack your way across the country.

Is it for you?

You come to Green Week if you like good food and want to know where it comes from. As a family you find hands-on stations and animal moments, as a foodie you taste from algae to goat gouda, as a garden fan you pick up ideas for balcony and beds, as a professional you meet partners for trade, tourism or technology. Green Week is deliberately easy to enter. You can taste, talk and experience, and at the same time meet contacts from around the world.

Tickets and getting there

The ticket categories are already listed. Online, a day ticket for private visitors is €17, a season ticket €48, a family ticket €39 and the happy-hour ticket from Monday to Friday after 2 pm is €12. Online is cheaper than at the door, and you skip the queue. According to the organiser, the ticket shop opens in autumn 2026.

The most relaxed way to ExpoCenter City is by S-Bahn via Messe Süd or Westkreuz, by U2 via Theodor-Heuss-Platz or Kaiserdamm, or by bus. South Entrance sits conveniently by S-Bahn Messe Süd. There are car parks around the grounds, but on fair days public transport is often the smarter choice.

How to plan your fair day

Start with a rough route. Mark your must-sees first, then let yourself drift. The grounds are large, so time slots and breaks in the halls pay off. If you want to avoid crowds, choose weekdays or arrive early. For the evening, the long Friday until 8 pm is a good option. Then you have more air to explore and often less crowding at the stands.

The Green Week app is very helpful, with a site map, location, exhibitor directory and favourite events. That keeps the fair in view.

Stay for Green Week

Ten days at Green Week by the Funkturm is long enough that you do not need to spend every evening in the fair district. Our houses sit in Mitte, Kreuzberg or Schöneberg. The S-Bahn takes you to ExpoCenter City, and in the evening tasting stands give way to a restaurant, a walk or simply quiet in a neighbourhood that does not smell of trade halls. If you want it faster, take a taxi or Uber, though construction around the Funkturm can still get tight during Green Week.
