Berlin Fashion Week AW27 from 29 January to 1 February in Berlin. Runways, emerging talent and boutique hotels for your stay.
What Berlin Fashion Week is about
Berlin Fashion Week is Berlin’s stage for contemporary fashion, with runway shows, presentations, talks and city events between art, culture and club culture. After its relaunch it focuses on sustainability, inclusion and emerging talent, with programmes such as BERLIN CONTEMPORARY and Studio2Retail. The winter edition AW27 runs from 29 January to 1 February 2027. BFW positions itself as a responsible movement and spreads the programme across the city rather than squeezing everything under one roof.
When and where AW27 takes place
Official dates are 29 January to 1 February 2027. Individual formats such as pop-ups or showrooms sometimes run longer or across the city. The official calendar is filled continuously, many slots confirm only shortly before start. Check back regularly when you plan your days.
Key locations include the Berlin Contemporary Showroom at Hotel Zoo Berlin on Kurfürstendamm, PLATTE Berlin on Memhardstraße, Studio2Retail as city-wide public events in stores and studios, and Atelier Gardens in Tempelhof as a frequent side-event location.
What awaits you in the programme
BERLIN CONTEMPORARY supports progressive shows and presentations with a curated line-up. Studio2Retail activates B2C formats in stores and studios, open doors, shopping actions and talks for anyone who wants into the scene without an invite. PLATTE Berlin curates pop-ups and exhibitions with rising designers for the AW27 season.
Stylistically, BFW stands for a clear Berlin profile: creative, progressive, inclusive, with experimental show formats. Less glam conformity, more attitude and handwriting.
Runways and show formats
Classic runway shows still happen at Berlin Fashion Week, just not all under one tent like in Milan or Paris. Runways, presentations and installations are spread across the city on purpose, often in halls and cultural venues that feel industrial, performative or club-like. The winter edition AW26 counted more than 40 show and presentation formats. For AW27, individual slots confirm only shortly before start in the official calendar, but the overall pattern stays stable.
INTERVENTION by Reference Studios is one of the clearest runway clusters of the week: several shows back to back on one day at Kraftwerk Berlin, with a real catwalk, seating and spotlights in the main hall. If you picture a classic show experience at fashion week, this is where you find it, even though the line-up is curated with a progressive edge.
NEWEST, produced by Nowadays, bundles runways by BERLIN CONTEMPORARY winners at one major location, in AW26 Macherei in Kreuzberg, while summer editions recently used ICC Berlin as well. RAUM.Berlin stages interdisciplinary fashion shows centrally at Potsdamer Platz. Both formats deliver real catwalk moments in Berlin architecture rather than a glossy trade-fair pavilion.
On top come individual runways by established labels and emerging talent in hotels, former industrial halls or cultural venues. The winter edition AW26 used among others Schöneberg Town Hall, Wintergarten Varieté, Feuerle Collection, Kindl Brewery and Bunker West. Some shows stay classic, others mix performance, skate or installation when the walk is deliberately broken open.
Most runway shows are invite-only or accessible with accreditation only. You plan them via BFW accreditation and the calendar, not by hoping at the door. If you are accredited, shuttle buses connect show locations. If you are travelling without an industry badge, start with Studio2Retail, showrooms and public events, and follow the runways through recaps and side programming.
Is it for you?
You come to Berlin Fashion Week if you want to experience fashion as urban culture, not only as a runway photo. Many runways are invite-only, but via Studio2Retail you find open events, pop-ups and shop actions. As an accredited or industry visitor you use showrooms, talks and runway clusters at Kraftwerk or NEWEST, as a curious newcomer you start with the public formats in the official schedule.
How to plan your fashion week days
The BFW map helps with routing between shows, showrooms and city events. Plan routes with the BVG app and leave buffer between slots, locations are deliberately decentral. If you are accredited, a free shuttle service connects selected shows and side events.
